What are the process methods and applications of machining?

Machining, refers to the process of accurately removing excess materials from the blank by traditional machining according to the shape and size requirements of the drawing, so as to make the blank meet the geometric tolerance required by the drawing.

Modern machining is divided into manual machining and numerical control machining. Manual machining refers to the operator operating lathes, milling machines, grinders and other mechanical equipment to accurately process the workpiece, which is suitable for the production of single and small batch parts; NC machining is that the operator sets the program language for the CNC equipment. CNC controls the axis of the NC machine tool to process automatically according to the requirements by identifying and interpreting the program language, which is suitable for the processing of large quantities and complex parts.

The specific machining processes mainly include turning, milling, grinding, pliers, drilling, boring, planing, punching and sawing, as well as electroplating, heat treatment, wire cutting, forging and other methods.

Lathe: lathe, mainly through the turning tool to process the rotating workpiece in linear or curve translation movement. Turning can make the workpiece reach its due shape, which is suitable for processing shafts and rotating parts;

Milling: milling machine, which mainly processes the workpiece fixed on the workpiece table through rotating tools, and is suitable for processing planes, grooves, various curved surfaces or gears;

Grinding: grinding machine, which mainly grinds the plane, outer circle, inner hole and tool of the workpiece through the high-speed rotating grinding wheel, and the surface roughness of the machined workpiece is particularly high;

Pliers: bench bench is used for precise measurement, checking the dimensional accuracy and form and position error of parts, and making precise marking. It is the basic tool and operation in mechanical manufacturing;

Drilling: drilling the workpiece with tools such as drill bit;

Boring: use boring cutter or blade to process holes, which is suitable for holes with high precision and large diameter;

Planing: plane or curved surface is processed by planer, which is suitable for machining linear surface of workpiece, but surface roughness is not as high as that of milling machine;

Punch: punch press, which is used to punch and shape, such as round punching or punching;

Sawing: sawing machine, suitable for cutting after blanking.

The above are several processes often used in machining. Through the above methods, the overall dimension of the workpiece can meet certain requirements.
