What are the application fields of injection mold?

Injection mold is an important process equipment for the production of various industrial products. With the rapid development of plastic industry and the promotion and application of plastic products in aviation, aerospace, electronics, machinery, ships, automobiles and other industrial sectors, the requirements of products for mold are becoming higher and higher, and the traditional mold design methods can no longer meet today’s requirements. Compared with traditional mold design, Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) technology has great advantages in terms of improving productivity, ensuring product quality, reducing costs and reducing labor intensity.

In the processing of injection mold, various numerical control machining are useful. The most widely used are numerical control milling and machining centers. The application of numerical control wire cutting and numerical control electric discharge machining in the numerical control processing of mold is also very common. Wire cutting is mainly used in the processing of various straight wall molds, such as concave and convex molds in stamping, inserts and sliders in injection mold, and electrodes for electric discharge machining. For the mold parts with high hardness, they cannot be machined by machining, and most of them are processed by EDM. In addition, the sharp corners, deep cavities and narrow grooves of the mold cavity are also processed by EDM. The CNC lathe is mainly used to process the standard parts of the mould rod, and the mould cavity or core of the revolving body, such as the injection mould of the bottle body and the pot, and the forging mould of the shaft and disk parts. In mold processing, the application of CNC drilling machine can also play a role in improving the processing accuracy and shortening the processing cycle.

Mold is widely used. In the modern manufacturing industry, almost all product components need to be formed using molds.  For example, electrical products, various plastic products, auto parts, etc., Therefore, the mold industry is an important part of the national high-tech industry and an important and valuable technical resource. Optimize the structural design of the die system and CAD/CAE/CAM of the part, and make it more intelligent, improve the forming process of the part and the standardization level of the die, improve the precision and quality of the die manufacturing, and reduce the amount of grinding and polishing work on the surface of the part and the manufacturing cycle; Research and apply high-performance, free cutting special materials for various types of mold parts to improve mold performance; In order to adapt to market diversification and trial production of new products, the application of rapid prototyping manufacturing technology and rapid mold making technology to rapidly manufacture molding dies, plastic injection molds or die-casting molds should be the development trend of mold production technology in the next 5 to 20 years.
